Located in Wuling Mountain Town, Mt. Wuling Great Rift Valley is about 45 kilometers southeast to Fuling District of Chongqing City, has been accredited as a key scenic spot of National 4A Scenic Spot, Damu Mountain Nature Reserve Area and Big Fairy Mountain in Chongqing. Wuling Mountain Rift Valley has an average altitude of 1,200 meters with the highest peak of up to 1,985 meters. Situated in Wuling Mountain range along the lower reaches of Wujiang River on the east coast, it covers a total area of nearly 30 square meters and is mainly composed of rifts, fissures, and underground rivers.

The scenic spot has been credited for its superb natural beauty of diverse original species and infinite variety, bursting with more than 2,000 wild plants and over 200 types of wild animals; it is also a place well known for fresh air and well reserved colorful ecosystem filled with hills, forests, springs, caves, falls, lakes, pools, gorges, holes, and fissures. The Great Rift Valley formed by the early movement of the crust stretches over 30 kilometers long, scatters with magnificent sceneries, unique landscapes and gurgling streams; the plunging water pouring from hundreds of meters above provides visitors nothing but a spectacular momentum; the natural cliff meanders miles away just like the Great Wall; a spot perfectly reappears a famous novel situation-Zhu Bajie carrying his wife in a lifelike way thus gets named as Zhu Bajie carrying his wife. The remarkable sceneries of Impregnable Wall, Qingtianxia Fissure, underground fall, etc. are as breathtaking as the others in this area.

It is said that the inhabitants here are descendants of ancient Ba State, they’ve got a reputation of being good at singing and dancing as well as being easy-going and generous to visitors. Covered with lush forests, the Great Rift Valley abounds in wild kiwi fruit, wild cherry, wild Gastrodia elata, wild bamboo shoots, wild honey, and other delicacies originated from Wuling Mountain, all of these make Wuling Rift Valley a perfect resort。

In the scenic area, the sightseeing shuttle bus will transport you to the top of the mountain which overlooks the picturesque Rift Valley. Then a cable car will transport you to the bottom, and you will walk on the 1500 meter plank road of the gorge above and 1600 meters below. In the end, you will be transported back to the top by cable car.
